New ski pics!
« on: September 11, 2008, 10:27:31 am »
They came a day early! Woohoo! And there was a frost warning up in VT last night. I can't wait to test these out!

I wasn't too crazy about the topsheet graphics when I saw them online, but for the price, I wasn't going to let that be a deal breaker. They actually look much better in person.

I took one pic with the new boots for ha-ha's.

Sorry about the pic quality..took em' with the cam on the BlackBerry.

I thought the same thing! "Army Skis"!

I actually found a pair of K2 Fugatives (I think they were Fugatives at least) for $10 more than these. But after reading a few reviews, it seems the Fugatives are a great park ski...but a bit "soft" if you get out of the park. I wanted a ski for the park...but one I could zip around the other parts of the mountain on. The ones I ended up with seemed that they were a better choice for park and all mountain.

Geez Glen...can ya take the ticket off the boots for petes sake!

Hmmm....I noticed a particular gleam off the tops skins.....come on Glenn...fess up....ya waxed them there didn't bud!

YOu do know that Killington is open right?  Not sure if that's too far from your place.

I anxious to hear how you like the performace not so much with the new boards but the boots.

Be sure to let us know!

Now get busy...your skis need more wax top and bottom.....at least 5 coats for new skis and more if you have time!

Best,
Gary

Glenn, it looks like all you need is some glide under those boards!  Good on ya' bro'! (OK, yes, take the tags off and start wearing them to break the liners in and mold to your feet. much less pain and breakin when you are skiing)

Thanks guys!

I'm sorry the pics are kinda crappy...I used my regular cam instead of my blackberry. Odd that they didn't come out better.

The Hot Rods have been treated to Meguire's Quick Detailer on the top sheet. I see no reason to not give both skis a coat of automotive was on the top sheets before the season hits.? ;D

I do need to break in those boots. Maybe this weekend I cal walk around a bit.

Another project is buiding a tuning bench in our boiler room. Darn raised ranch doesn't have a basement, so I'll have to make do with what unfished space I do have. At least it'll be warm in there and I can wax and sharpen in a t-shirt and shorts...even with it's 5F outside.? :D

Killington is a bit of haul....I think 3.5 hours? However, I'm hoping Mt. Snow will open around the 14th.

Good man!  There's hope for you yet! Maybe you can setup a coolata machine in there to keep you cooled down... ;D ;D ;D

Get them boots on, put some ski **** on and get ready!

PS- i just watched "Under the influence" a new TGR film, this is a killer movie with some of the coolest powder shots.

http://www.tetongravity.com/viewer/INFLUENCE.aspx  Play some of the trailers. They were filming the Jhole segments last year when we were up there.
