Your laugh for the day!
« on: September 25, 2008, 10:08:57 am »
I scored a pair of head 82's this AM off of tramdock, had to: 290 shipped. Just wouldn't be right to not grab them as they were the only 172's. Love this ski!

I almost did the same...  I think the one that would force me to click is the i.m 88

88 really offers nothing more than the 82, just wider. It's stiffer and not really a ski with good float or pow versitility, It is a crudbusting monster and a fregith train though

I saw the IM 82's and noticed that someone got the only 172 length. If it had been there I would have bought it as well and the last thing I need is a pair of IM 82's!!

Ron, unless you are taking big air, I would go with the LD 12 which Levelninesports sells for $109. The FF14 is a better and burlier binding but ubles you are really slamming the skis or carving on hard snow with ultra high G's I'm not sure you need much else. Money wise if you really want a burly binding the FF17 sells for $139 at Levenine. Hard to beat.

Enjoy!! It's a pretty good quiver, SS Mags,, IM 82's, The Blizzards and the Shaman's. Now all we need is some snow!!

I saw that the 172's were gone in not time as well. Nice score Ron! Saw your post on Epic.

Anyone see those Dynastars they had up yesterday? I was surprised for how long they were up there...a good 45 minutes IIRC.

Thanks Glenn!

Jim, I scored a pair of FF14's for my demo Magnums that I returned. I only paid 125 for them. considering that, would you put those on the 82 instead? I can also trade those for a pair of Mojo15's and mount on a cp13 for added height or just go flat.

I much prefer the flexibility of the Railflex setup, but the Magnum's came with the Carve Plate so I was stuck with the FreeFlex bindings.

I wouldn't use the FreeFlex.  If you want a little bit better snowfeel, then I would mount flat.  If you want the flexibilty to move forward/backward a bit then I would go with the Railflex.   That would also give you the flexibility of adapting to other boot lengths and make it easier for whomever buys them when you are through.

I think you had a pair of iM82's?  Were they flat or railflex?  How did you like the feel of the ski, factoring in that it sounds like you are a much better skier now than even a couple of years ago?

I had them the 1st season they came out, (I bought used of course!) and really liked them. At that time, a 82mm ski was pretty fat, I think Gary called it a powder ski :) Anyway, I wanted to go fatter and sold them. They were a blast to rip on and I thought they were good but the tips were too stiff in powder over 6" or so but were fantastic crud busters. Not overly damp either. I had them with RFD14's and really liked the RF as well. gary had them with Mojo15's. I skied them flat and liked them that way. I am going to see if I can beg and plead my way to get Lynn to part with her ld12's.....

You are the best!  You are sure they are the Railflex version of the ld right?  (don't kill me please!)

Give me a call. I will pay for shipping. (what a guy!)  ;D
