1" PVC on the 6 pair model ??? Drilling through the PVC and using a hook that a washer and nut could be placed on the bottom ??

I am sure that you can use 1". I had a bunch of 3/4" and connectors laying around.

Just got my materials at Home Depot, they didn't have the six pack though.  I guess Bombay and Tonic will have to do for tonight...

OK, I just have to post a picture of how my skis are organized in my apartment.
All in a row, leaned up against the wall in the corner next to the bicycle (cost was $0).
