I'd be interested in your recommendation for a 100-110mm big mountain ski for my profile (6'2" 235) in the 180-190 length.  Been eyeing the Mantra.

Have a good trip?

Fischer Vision Zeal in 159 length (and, therefore, 84mm waist).? ?;D

Not for me obviously, but in case you find a Lynn size woman to test.

Perry:  I've got a pair of Fischer Watea 84's 177cm length that should be available soon.  After all, I've skied on them two days, and that is much longer than many of Ron's purchases and sales.

Phil...take close ups of any fancy gizzmo's the manufacturers may be putting on the new models...skis and boots.

Some crazy stuff showing up in the shops lately.

Have a blast....oh yeah...send ROn pictures of new ski jackets....it's about time he found another!

Just a quick run through along with some highlights.

Conditions..Conditi ons were almost too good. I would have preferred some more...err.. any ice to try these ski on. I didn't get to test everything the first day.

K2:
Raider: Other than graphics, no change from last year.
Commander: Raider version of the Xplorer,
Crossfire: Waist got bumped to 74mm, this ski was the surprise of the testing (so far)
Fujas: 5/15 rocker for 09. A blast to ski.

Head:
Joe: Mojo94 with no metal. Bleach, didn't ski well at all felt dead
Peak 82: Monster 82 w/o metal. Fun ski. Huge upgrade in graphics over Monster Series

Blizzard:
Magnum 7.6: Smooth, light and lively
Magnum 8.1: Went with the wideride binding, very nice ski
Cross 74: For a $499.00 ski, performed fantastic for the money

Palmer
P01: Rocker with a very low tip profile. Fun ski, especially in the bumps

Volkl:
Grizzly: The switch works, prefer the switch in Dynamic mode.
AC50: No change
AC30: Now 80 underfoot with a Wideride binding
Manta: What else do I need to say
Gotama: Super low tip profile a la P01 but camberless.

Nordica
HotRod 84 FLAT: Much better ski without the XBi binding system. Skis like a real ski

Roxie:
Swell: Interesting concept. Wrong graphics for the market of the ski.

Cool that they went flat with the Nordica's. I always wondered how they'd ski without the system binding.

Nice job Phil....

It's always nice to have an inside line on the new gear...

So they had no ladies skis for you to demo....I mean come on....across the board baby....must not keep the gals guessing!

Line Cronic Crypt: Very nice twin. Solid

Volkl Bridge: Not as nice as the Cronic

Kastle 82 (black): It's a Kastle, of course it's nice...and expensive

Nordica Girish: I have been on freight trains that were more nimble. LOL. Not my style ski.

Head Peak 88: Get your Monsters while you can.

Atomic Double Deckers: WOW, real nice. Skied the vario sidecuts and vario flexes. Both skied great.

Fischer: a $399.00 system ski. For the money, it skied great, like a ski that is $100.00 more.

Blizzard Magnum 8.7 w/ Slider and Marker 20.0: Super solid interface, depending on binding, you can get a lower feel on the ski, more of a race feel.

Fischer Cold Heat 74 and 76: Blizzard 7.4 and 7.6's are nicer at the same price points.

Went back and did some side by side comparisons at size/price points. Revisited some skis to ski in varied terrain and speeds.
