Summer ...making the best of it
« on: July 07, 2009, 02:08:49 pm »
HI gang.....it's been awhile I know. I hope all are in good heath. I know some of you are skiing in different places around the world. Bite me!.

No, I'm not bitter....we find time to play lots of golf, ride our bikes, movies...freakn' yard work out the ying yang with all this darn rain..but hey....some people are testing skis or riding on snow covered peaks here and there.

Well....I hope they are enjoying themselves...truly I do...no really.....

It's just that this time of year, I have buddies thinking about changing their slosh around inside the ski boot boots and the talk of great runs and new trips to schedule is something to be taken care of. Yes and the dreams have started...had one yesterday...skiing. ..ah yes....Now how the heck did that happen in July?

So I focus on golf mostly now with every other thought of those first turns on the mountain......the Steamboat trip Dec 12-19th, Aspen Jan 10-16th and Jackson Jan 17-21st.....geez....maybe that's why I'm thinking so much about skiing....cause I'm actually thinking about skiing. I'm hoping that many, all and some of you will consider joining me and others out at these resorts these dates. Always love to see the Real Skiers clan on the mountain laughing and sharing their passion.

SO, may your summer be healthy, go quickly, peacefully,  and my snow come early, stay and be fruitful!

Now.....135 days to go time!!! oh yea....you know I'm smiln'!  ;D

Best,
Gary

The picture that will not die!!! :D

I am very sad about this, but will miss RS4 this year. Going for ski camp the week before. It was a VERY tough choice.
HOpe to catch up with the gang at ASPEN!!
THat will be a new place to explore and I have heard the town is fun to walk around.
Now, if the recession would just hit lodging prices there!

Gary, I commiserate with you on the yard work. An abundance of weeds,......er grass, I mean.
And the veggies are NOT appreciating these cool nights. THe tomato plants are small, the pepper plants miniscule and the eggplant plants just about eaten by slugs.

Time to go skiing!

Lynn.....glad you're making the time for clinics....the results pay off big time. Still, we will miss your smiling face and eagerness to jump into any run...ok...we'll miss Jim a whole bunch too!

We are glad you're thinking about making Aspen....it's one of our favorite places to ski and a great town as well. Now finding cheap accomodations...wel l that's one you might tneed to chug a full mug of ale before pricing!

Ok...today...summer is here....to stay, I don't know. But everything is green, long and overgrown....well except like you said..the veggies.

Still, it's been cooler than usual, no air conditioning running...good for the pocket book and environment.

Where is the clinic you are attentding being held?

Good morning all!

Jim and I will do the Harb Blue Camp at A-Basin. It's the week before RS4, so couldn't do both.

I really wanted to experience doing a camp early in the season, rather than half way thru the ski season.
It will be interesting to see if habits that are ingrained by mid - season are more amenable to change in early season!

Good plan to get those skiills ingrained early Lynn and be able to work on them all through the season.

You'll be in full apply mode by the time Aspen rolls around!

PS...Abasin is a great resort with early snow...sounds like a great time.

Todd is attending the camp as well, and I'm hoping others.? It was fun last year meeting some more of the people that post here.
However, I've heard that the roster is already almost full.

Ron/Gary:? Hope you can deal with the rejection? ;D of my deciding to ski the week with Lynn; Real Skiers ski week was always a lot of fun.? Of course, I'm not sure either 2 or 3 left the indelible memories of RealSkiers 1 back in December of 2006.? I'm still sorry I missed that.? However, Real Skiers 2 did have some pretty memorable moments (and a few memorable injuries).
