Check this off my Bucket List

Hey Gang....for years I've said : "I really want to be somewhere skiing in our summer." Nice huh....it got put into my "bucket list" hoping to be fulfilled.

Well you all know I met John Clendenin a few years back in a one day private at Aspen with my wife. He's a great instructor, world class and his Clendenin Ski Method makes speed management in the bumps and crud so much easier. Then again this past season we invited John to Jackson hole for a 2 day clinic for 4 of us. John will be running a program out of Jackson in the near future. We had such a good time and really learned a ton of great stuff. I know my skiing improved by seasons end.

Well, John's heading for Portillo, Chile' to run a 7 day clinic at the ski resort there. I had asked him in the past that I'd love to someday work with his team. In passing conversations over the past week discussing his technique and his book, I mentioned to John I'd love to come and shlep bags if he needed the extra help. John asked if I'd be willing to work with his teaching staff as an assistant and I said a....well yeah...... ;D I was a bubblin" all over inside.

So yup...head there Sept 4-14th and guess what...there's room for one more in my room.....Come now....any takers....? If it's on your bucket list...
come down and join the Clendenin crew...for sure, you won't regret the learning experience...and oh yeah....me being there....bonus!  ::)

What a way to spilt up the summer golfing months...can't wait!

well, the snow at Portillo is looking a lot better than valle Nevado so maybe you'll have better snow than us!  :)

Thanks Jim...should be a blast.

Ron...as I understand it.....storms hit those mountains frequently and drop oodles of snow. Pretty much this is how they get their snow rather than snowing everyday.

Here's hoping the timing is right for the oodles of snow when we're there.

No whinning!  Just a little concerned... they just got 1.5' today so maybe more is coming in. I still think the report is wrong. The 2 neighboring resorts, La Parva and El Colorado are reporting like 3x as much base. Makes no sense. Oh well, it will be fun.

Ok...the easy part is ditching work...the hard part.... having to go back.

Ron stopped whinning cause they had 16" recently. Plenty of time...!

I'm looking forward to a report on the microbrews of Chile.  Best perspective is through the bottom of a pitcher...

I'll see if can arrange for the appropriate photo angle of a Chilean beer mug in it's proactive postion.  ::)

I understand it's a steep shelp up the stairs to the hotel....I am putting together a team of shlepers to assit in the climb.  ;D
Sure would be THE BLAST if we were all there together. for summer skiing....things to talk about this season for next.  >:D

Is there a Spanish version of Clendenin's book? Do the 4 magic words translate into Spanish? Will you please autograph my copy now that your a certified magic words ski instructor. Always remember the difference between ski instructors and God.

On a more serious note, have a blast! Ski instruction is your real calling other than being Alice's main squeeze!

we're getting some snow now and it's looking good. Portillo is good shape and this next wave should really help. 

Its great to see his dream take hold.
