Birthday Notice for Lynn
« on: July 30, 2009, 09:44:40 am »
Ron's post about Gary's upcoming birthday reminded me that I could/should have posted something about the fact that Lynn's birthday was this past Tuesday, July 28th.

Must be wonderful to be 39 again.? ?>:D  :)

She's been away from the computer all week, so plenty of time to post something appropriate for her to read on her return to civilization.?

Thank you ALL!
B-day was a blast. Had a high school swim team reunion in the afternoon.
THEN.....Saw South Pacific at Lincoln Center with Jim, that evening.
LOVED IT. Such wonderful music. Not a "filler" song in the whole musical.

Nantucket! sounds fun. Nice biking there, I remember.

Lynn,
Today's my b-day, so, a belated HB to a fellow Leo (I think).

A minor short story regarding my birth. I was born one year to the day following the dropping of the Atomic Bomb. My dad was combat infantry office aboard a troop ship in the Pacific waiting for the invasion. If bomb is not dropped, there's no way he's home in fall of '45 and this post never would have been written. I hope we never experience nuclear war, and regular war too, but the first events permitted my birth.

Enjoy

Mike

great story although there are many historians who would argue the Japanese were ready to negotiate (they had already indicated in as much) as they were fearful that the Russians would claim their land but the USA was also fearful of the Russians and many say that the bomb was dropped as more of a show of force to them..........

BUT- we are glad you were born!!!! ;D
