Snow in Montana!!
« on: September 28, 2009, 01:17:13 pm »
A STRONG PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO IMPACT CENTRAL AND
SOUTHWEST MONTANA BEGINNING LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND LASTING
THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT. SIGNIFICANTLY COLDER AIR WITH THIS SYSTEM
WILL DROP SNOW LEVELS DOWN TO AROUND 5000 FEET. A BROAD AREA OF
VARYING PRECIPITATION...WIT H A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW FOR LOWER
ELEVATIONS AND WIDESPREAD SNOW FOR THE MOUNTAINS WILL SPREAD
EASTWARD AS THE SYSTEM MOVES ACROSS THE REGION. TRAVELERS AND THOSE
PLANNING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES IN THE MOUNTAINS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO
ENCOUNTER WINTER-LIKE CONDITIONS DURING THE MIDWEEK PERIOD.

First snow of the season!! Very nice!! When it snows inTahoe we know the season is upon us. Unfortunately it was still hitting 80 up there this past weekend, but things can change quickly in the mountains!!

February Blizzard in the Northeast
« Reply #4 on: September 29, 2009, 10:32:36 am »

Just so everyone is forewarned, Farmers' Almanac is predicting a termendous blizzard in February this winter.  Make your ski plans (or not) as appropirate depending on whether you think you'll be able to get out of your driveway.  20" of snow down here in Virginia pretty much shuts things down.

Jim...please send that storm to Steamboat Feb 6-13th....very much appreciated...

20 inches would be acceptable.

Thank you....and while you're at it....if you are so well connected with the snow gods.....shall we make all requests through you and as far as accountability..bee r on me for every on target forecast you make.  ;D Now for those unfortunate missed forecasts.....you get to carry more luggage....I mean its not like that hasn't happened before.  :o

Just do the dance Jim....I'm sure that will bring it!

Nice try Gary? ;)

Jim,? I know the appropriate currency and I hereby outbid Gary.? A one year supply of Pepsi if you'll intervene to have that storm hit Loveland the week of Feb 22.

Yes, you are on the money! Or should I say Pepsi.
Though, in a break-thru ( of sorts), Jim actually was sharing a beer with me after bike rides.
And enjoying it. Magic 9 did the trick.

But Pepsi is still the one.. ;D

Yeah, the sacrifices one has to make.? >:D? Lynn doesn't like to drink the whole beer by herself, so I sometimes volunteer to help her out.
Unfortunately, she seldom reciprocates and helps me with my Pepsis (but then, of course, being the "real man" that I am I don't need help finishing a tall cool Pepsi by myself).
