WOW!!
Is it cold enough to stick around? Is there any kind of a base there yet?

sounds like you guys will have decent early season conditions.

To the top in the final days before your trip.

I was speaking with Ron yesterday and he was packing his skis. Good for him, bummer for me and those remaining at home.

Ron, Gary, Greg et al ---  Have a great trip. My the snow gods smile mightily on you.

I am sure you have checked this yourself, but all the snow news in Summit County was about
the huge dumps at Steamboat and Telluride this past week.

HOpefully, you will have a good number of runs open.
A real paucity of snow here in the Dillon, Co area.

Since we were at camp working strictly on technique, the groomed terrain available was fine. Anyone looking for off piste
would be out of luck.

Have a great time guys.
I am sad at missing SB4.

we got a nice dump yesterday and 7" reported last night. It's 6am here now. Typically, Steamboat under reports snwo totals so we are heading out this AM early for freshies. Garyme and my friend Jim ( a guy I skied with in Chile) skied hard yesterday lots of fresh and broken along the sides of trails, the bumps were fantastic, big and soft, lots of little hits to pop off.  Will definitely take out the Nomads this AM. Gary has his Pilgrms all ready to go. Greg is stuck in Denver but I think he'll get out this AM.

Hopefully you will get some fresh to get on and work on your off-piste technique for a bit.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-December 14, 2009-A foot of snow has blanketed the Steamboat Ski Area in the past 48-hours after a storm system moved through the Yampa Valley over the weekend.

Ron,

Folks country-wide have been praying for snow.? Ullr saw fit to provide you, Gary, and co. powder.? Make the most of his gift, lest he not answer our as yet unanswered prayers.? Show those folks at Steamboat how to harvest a crop of powder!? Like Perry, I am "pleasantly jealous."

too FUnny, nothing new on the horizon now, maybe a ?couple of inches coming but the weather yesterday was clear blue skis and the groomers were soft and fast. the bumps are still soft with pockets of powder here and there. Still way behind on snowfall. GAry put a 3 degree on my pilgrims and I have to admit they were great, the ski really performed well.

Ron,
So you could tell a difference bt 2 and 3 degree?  If so, please elaborate, I am curious.

Hey gang....good skiing at Steamboat....workin g the legs hard and enjoying soft snow and bumps along the edges, some broken snow here and there..

Perry...the difference with the 3 degree side bevel is better edge hold on groomed, hardpacked and using the edges in brush turns and drifting...

In my opinion....1 base and 3 degree side are outstanding for a variety of conditions. It's on my 90 mm waisted Pilgrims as well as my Fischer P 8's....never found a place where it hurts performance.

Used in the bumps, in powder, groomers, everywhere I ski....3 and 1 keep me edge stong.

Best, G
