some video from Steamboat
« on: December 30, 2010, 01:35:35 pm »
just in case you want to see some of the Bent chetlers in action.  My wife gave me a go-pro for christmas and I shot some video. Its a chest mount so beacuse of the fish eye lens, it looks a little like I am in the backseat. It was extremely low, flat light. For those familiar, the storm peak video is a falirly steep area and it looks like a green groomer!  Enjoy!

Ron,

Some really neat video. The snow gods are making up for Chile.

Just for some comparison, how does pitch of Storm Peak compare with the skiing last year at Grand Targhee? We skied GT in a similar low visibility weather last year with a fair amount of powder. At the end of the day you, Gabby and I did a tree fun run that came to mind when watching your video.

hard to say, storm peak is a "black" run but I would say no more than 20 degrees? Phil may be able to compare, its not really steep.  It was fun, that's all.

Ron,
I like the videos. What sweet conditions!!!!!  They made me smile.  Friday I drove 2 1/2 hours to ski a slope with 650 ft vertical, mostly complete snow coverage that was melting, kind of slightly sticky cream cheese and mashed potatoes.....and I had a great time ;D ;D ;D.  Call it withdrawal delirium, lack of sense, or just plain being hard up.  And you don't want to know what I paid in gas along with my $62 lift ticket.

Suffice it to say that watching someone I know, ski some champagne powder, in nicely spaced trees.........price less.

glad you liked them unfortunately, it wasn't Champagne powder! It was rather heavy but thank god for fat rockered ski's!
