Be honest, how many of these have you said yourself?

I said quite of few of these this past week.

Breaking in new Nordica foam liners this past week I KNOW I complained:

"My toes are quite cold"
I don't know if my toes feel better, I can't feel them "
"My feet hurt".
"My feet hurt and I need to rest them" (after 1 run')
"Damn, it feels like there's something pressing down on my toe knuckles"
"Damn, THERE IS something pressing down on my top toe knuckles"
"What, no sandpaper in this condo?; where's my nail file?"

End of week:

AAaaahhhh.

I did hear a few of those, and may have uttered (or thought) some others.

You know, crying in the lift chair is not very lady-like.
C'mon (wo)man!
Are we getting old, is that why we stop every two runs?
Hmmm, I think I'm pretty glad that I went with Zipfit instead of the Nordica Foam.  I'm not man enough to be like Lynn.   ;D

And from the various boot shops "I'm not quite sure I understand why they did this that way. That's not what we would do. Maybe you probably need a new footbed".

And from onlooking customers.  "You should try Surefeet, they can fix anything."

Good one, John! Some hilarious skits in there.  And so true....."Bar!"....bonk!

Do any of you south of the border know what poutine is? (the stuff the guy in the cafeteria was stuffing down his gullet)  Culinary translation on request.....

Kids say great stuff too, esp. yelled at other skiers from the safety of the chairlift:

"Yeti!!!"
"Yard Sale!!!"

Thanks for the laugh.... ;D

I confess to knowing what "poutine" is. Lynn's son attended under graduate school in Montreal, and introduced it to them. Sounds pretty disgusting to me, but she claims it is very tasty.

Jim, I am impressed with your worldly knowledge.

Definitely need a healthy and active digestive system to eat a plate of that.  And a defibrillator on standby.  This stuff is an obsession with some.  On our annual kids ski outing (we invite as many of our daughter's friends as we can fit in our two vehicles, to skip school for a day and go skiing at Blue Mountain) three boys (12 years old) debated the merits of where the best poutine was to be had.....for two hours! Just having returned from a school trip to Quebec City, they were connoisseurs, apparently.  Too funny....

While in college I dated a girl from Montreal  who introduced me to poutine. What's there not to love? It should be named a superfood:

Fries + Cheese + Gravy = All Major Food Groups Represented
I'm not a ski instructor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I like this definition from a web page.
Poutine is Acadian slang for "mushy mess" and is best described as a "heart attack in a bowl".

In Kansas I grew up with white gravy on french fries, but never cared for cheese fries -- so the concept of curds and a brown gravy is more than I can even imagine. And I'm worried that I might like them.

Me too....that's why I never touch the stuff.  My midriff is sufficiently challenged without needing another addiction.  But some day, whenever we make it to Quebec for a ski trip, and skied our butts off all week, I may just reason my way out of my aversion by ordering a plate in a quaint little local bistro.....  Mmmmm.....Yum!  :P
