the only catch is I want to film everything that happens. The only thing that is in it for me is showing my way is better. The PMTS will say she has alot to lose but I say there is so much to be gained because you can not carve a great turn with seperation at the hip joint.
Not sure I would make this so black and white Josh. I wish more coaches would do things like you describe above. Video of a student's improvement accompanied by how they/you
(it takes effort on the part of both the student and coach to go above and beyond, and in some cases both have to let go of what they think they know) did it is a great learning tool regardless of the label you put on it. If you have success with the process noted above, you won't be hearing about how your way is better - simply that you're a great coach. If it were me, in your position, I'd rather be known for being a great coach rather than being tied to a "way" of teaching.
Granted, it is no secret where I draw technique from, but for an athlete who didn't already know - they would never know the difference - only that what I teach them works and produces the results they want. That is what matters - especially for a coach in your position.
BTW - Kathleen watches Facebook and she told me you got your DCL - congrats - keep it up.
