Powder skiing....in the Dark-Video, Why I ski
« on: February 16, 2013, 08:25:38 am »
What kind of all-mountain skier am I?  The Kind that'll endeavor to ski freshies at night..

This is friday night as Nemo was just ramping up.   A group of us, using a few bike lights had a friggin' blast  drifting through the the accumulating snow on a dark and lovely slope in New England!

I am featured prominently in the very first run (@ the 3:00 minute mark)-I have a white helmet with a black sticker (on the other runs I took over 'bike light and transportation duties!).

Enjoy-somewhere in here is the real spirit of why I learned to ski in the first place-adventurous nights doing something out of the ordinary with a great crew of budsfrom all walks of life.  Vive La vita skiing:

I think this will get a soundtrack laid over it, though I like the chit chat.

Hi Liam,

Great little video of a marvelous night. This is small payback for all the work patrolers do. They seem like a great bunch of enthusiastic skier-people. Bushwacker would highly approve, I'm sure. I like the patrol shack, nicely equipped to hang out during a long day or night of patrol duties.

And, you get a minor starring role. We are not worthy! :D

Man, skiing the cold firm groomers and colder firmer bumps (on Side of Cloud and Hemlock) Yesterday and today makes that night seem like a year ago!  Things change so quickly in southern, New England.

Yeah GreenTrails, it's hard to capture the goofy exuberance of that night in a grainly you tube video, but still, I smile every time I watch it.   Man let's hope for some big snow soon at the little hill....
