New Ski Purchase alert!!!
« on: July 09, 2007, 07:02:26 am »
folks, I just had to do it! I bought a brand new, still in the wrapper pair of 179 PE's (public enemies). $200 shipped. I will take to Steamboat. It will be fun to test against the Mojo90's.  I need a pair for east coast and non-steamboat trips so not sure if I will keep Mojo's in NJ or the PE's.

OK, so I am officially confused.? Is Michael now somehow able to post with Ron's name?

Gary you are completely wrong.? It's a clothes **** with a whole new modus operandi.? Obviously he needs a couple of sets of ski clothes to coordinate with each pair of skis.? It isn't buying the skis that is the goal, it's only a means to an end.

Congrats Michael Ron.?

More seriously, more people should have hobbies that they enjoy this much.  (  ;D But am I talking about the ski buying or the skiing, or does it matter?)

Midwif, hope you are reading now and then, laughter is good medicine.

Yes Jim...you have certainly hit the nail on the head...strange, I was just talking to ROn about the new Look binding he is purchasing for his new skis with the big blue probiscis...he's going to have to add some blue into his wardrobe to appropriately accent the upper half of his body.

And might I add, this is not a "serious" hobby for Ron..errr...Michael ....errr...ROn..... it's a WAY OF LIFE! and the ski industry appreciates it!

ROn, for our up coming Real SKiers trip, I think you should post your ski and clothing selection for each day we ski so the rest will be able to find you on the mountain.

SOmehting like: "Rons ski selection today will be the MOJO's appropraitely accented with his white pants and orange jacket puncuated with a black helmet and tinted spherical goggles that create a tall image in motion"! Yep...we should all know in advance!

I have sooooooo many aspirations! <:)

Come on Lynn.....you're always styln'....need your assitance here......Lynn's a clothes junkie too!

Best,
Gary

Ok, lets clear up the BS here!  OK, I have two pairs of Supershapes, one for home and one for Steamboat. I have one pair of Mojo90's and one pair of PE's. I will try the PE's and the Mojo's and decide which is better for everyday use at Steamboat and send the other pair back home for use there and when I take on the road. SO, here's the truth.... It's two of the same ski and then just two other skis. I am honored to be held in the same class as Mr. Barrett but i don't own anywhere near the number of skis he owns.  Ski clothes..ok yo may have a point but this season is shaping up as follows

orange Salomon soft shell (bought last year)
Green Arc' teryx Gamma softshell (bought last season at "cost")- for warm days
White TNF pants
Green Salomon pants
Brown Shells for warm weather

One helmet, one pair of gloves...

Same boots..

Is this really THAT excessive?   ::)

No Ron...that's just perfect!

You are indeed incorporating the tools of good common sense along with a dash of style. We follow in your footsteps cause someone has to lead the way!

Wow, just like Stein.? I'm sure you all know this, but each day at Deer Valley the shop in the Stein Ericksen lodge has a model dressed just like "what Stein is wearing today" so you can easily identify Stein on the slopes.

Ron, you should be VERY impressed that Gary views you as in the same category as Stein Ericksen.? ?;)

Exactly Jim....Ron SHOULD get himself a handful of one piece Bognar zip bags and suit up!

I like it!

Still, Stein is the man and still skis rock solid!

Now we're getting some where!  Yes, I will post the outfilt of the day in the lobby of Canyon Creek each afternoon. The auction will start each evening at 6pm along with cocktails and appetizers.  ;D

Atta boy Ron.

I'll bet Gary will be the big bidder.  I've sensed a certain amount of envy in all of the harassment, I think he secretly wants to be suave and debonair "just like Ron."

Yeah, I get that same feeling too.  ::)  Problem is, he's a much better skier than I am so I just have to put up with the abuse until I can learn all his secrets!

Gosh gee willy, I'm flattered.....I think?!?!?

Hmmm...choices, spend the wee pences I have on ski gear and ski trips or have fewer of the aforementioned and wear Rons clothes.

Ron,...how many "outfits" you bringing?

Don't make me get on the chair with my blue jeans and a wool sweater!

Man, we're not even there yet and the laughs flow. Can't wait!!!!!!!

"Wee pences" Who? yes, I met Gary at a restaurant wanting to know if he could have my leftovers!  Mr. Cassara does just fine with "pences". He has very nice gear and looks rather dashing!  He just lets his skiing do the talkin'  I will have the orange jacket and the green pants. That's it. sorry. I can bring the White ones if you like.......
