Holiday grab bag for Steamboat
« on: September 25, 2007, 08:25:30 am »
OK since it will be 'tis the season when we're out there, i propose a grab bag ski gift exchange. No more than $10

Sound OK?

I'm sure I could waste $10 on something totally obnoxious and useless.  Do you need to supply rules to taste and etiquette?  Remember, Gary will be there.  I don't need ANYTHING orange.

What a great idea!

RS Grab Bag....the paricpants bring their gift, then their names are put into a helmet and each person would pick a name. That name would correspond with the name on the gift.

OR...some female member (cause they're less likely to cheat) could draw 2 names from the helmet and they would exchange their gift.

Now let me see....$10.....I'm assuming the gift must be ski related...must be new (no used skis Jim or Michael) and can be applied, injested, worn, read, or all of the above.

This sounds like a fun thing...

it must be ski related, that includes, equipment, clothing, accessories or other. Be creative and at least semi-tasteful...

Sounds fun. But unfortunately, rules out the gold fart bag for Ron. ;)

Can we bump it to $20.  $10 is pretty limiting!!

I agree with the bump up to $20. The time involved trying to keep to 10 will cost more than actually spending the extra 10.

So how do we do a name exchange (anonymously) over the internet? Which computer genius among you can figure this out? (uh, it definitely leaves me out)

If I understand Lynn's question correctly, then I nominate 'trip coordinator' Ron. He seems like an honest guy.?I, for one, don't want to grab a pair of orange fuzzy dice that Lynn purchased for Gary out of the bag.

Ron puts the recipient names in a hat, then draws out a name to associate with a giver.? He can then either post the whole set (if that's what we want) or he can message each of us with information about whom we are buying for.

PS.? Ron, you are NOT allowed to tell each of us separately that we have your name.

Option 2: My other candidate would be Lynn, as the only woman and also trustworthy.

Option 3:? Ron or Gary's wife does the drawing.? They set her up to send the notification email but don't get to see the messages.
