OMG! I do not wish to bring the wrath of Gandalf upon me, lest I should be banished to some far away corner of the electronic ether (in some dark tower, likely). ?Seriously, no innuendo was intended. ?I plead naivete, complete innocence. ?The reference was entirely to swords and swordsmanship. ?And don't let Lynn read this thread, or her acerbic tongue shall smite me where I stand.
...but at least I ?am finding myself very amusing
Well, at least
you find yourself amusing...good to laugh at oneself...very healthy, and good for the spirit. ?Keeps the old bubble centered, eh Jim?

As for history, yes, the vikings had massive weapons, but not any larger or more cumbersome than those of their enemies, I think. ?Seems everyone at that age was swinging 30 pound swords and hurling boulders at each other with trebuchets and the like. ?Not sure when the cutlass and lighter swords like it came into use...certainly by the 1700s...perhaps earlier, introduced by the Moors?
156? Those are like ice skates

?170s for this guy...a tad bit short for my height perhaps, but given where I ski and my limited experience, a comfortable choice.
